As has been the case quite often, Bellbrook went out with a quick lead,
but true to form, Alter came back with vengeance! Smack-down defense caused Bellbrook to think a draw play would get the Knights off guard,
but new-comer, (and extremely talented DB), Jr. Nolan Plate made the INT,
setting up a 4 yard TD run by Chris Borland, evening the score at 7 - 7.
Alter took total control of the game in the second quarter with the first of
two TD runs by bruising fullback Justin Hall, a 32 yard TD pass from
Austin Boucher to "Mr. Everything" Danny Jasper, and a gutsy heads-up
TD run by Boucher with the QB keeper.
Tommy's Guns on D turned the lights out for the Golden Eagles before halftime.
The defensive onslaught was impressive with an outstanding display
of talent by Cody Conley, (filling in for the first time for the injured Collin Boucher), Philip Sowar, Scott Anderson and Plate, (who took over early in the game
for the injured Chris Schneble), with the aforementioned INT,
a fumble recovery and quite a few blistering tackles.
In the third quarter, there was more outstanding play by the offense, lead
by the O line, a barrelling TD run by Hall and an athletic TD run by Borland.
The anniliation of the Eagles continued once Alter introduced their
talented back-up squads into the fray. Alter is extremely lucky to have with the likes
of Patterson, Greger, Sugrue, Pitzer, Satterfield, Brand, Eisenhauer, Krystofik
and all the rest.
